Project Management

In my capacities as research associate, academic coordinator, and acting manager of a study support association, I have been responsible for public relations, project coordination, and organizational development. In this context, I have managed various projects, from steering a Joint MA Degree Program through the uncertainty of the Covid pandemic to revitalizing a volunteer organization following the post-Covid slump many volunteer associations struggled with.

My responsibilities as Project Coordinator
  • I was responsible for the coordination of the program’s institutional development and laying the foundation to expand the cooperation from an institutionalized student exchange towards a full Joint Degree Program. This included stakeholder-coordination, the preparation of events, briefings, workshops and presentations, as well as ongoing coordination meetings, reporting and project-management.
  • Adding to that, I developted further the program’s student recruitment strategies, and organizing events with internationally renowned and prolific guests from politics and science.
  • Additionally, I organized excursions to governmental, international, and non-governmental organizations in Bonn and Brussels, and successfully secured the necessary third-party funds.
CMEPS
  • Comparative Middle East Politics & Society – or CMEPS – is a joint MA degree program offered collaboratively by Tübingen University and the American University in Cairo. It has been operating since 2013, and since 2023, it operates as a Joint Degree Program – the highest form of institutional collaboration in higher education.
  • Despite politically turbulent times and a global pandemic, this program has not only been continuously operating ever since, but the participating institutions have, in fact, deepened the institutional ties of CMEPS and expanded their cooperation within the program.
Core Achievement
  • Contributing to the expansion and deepening of the institutional collaboration between AUC and Tübingen University in the form of a Joint Degree Program.
  • Successfully steering the program through the Covid pandemic and stabilizing student applications despite an overall decrease throughout similar institutions.
  • Co-organizing the 10-year anniversary event, and coordinating the compilation, designing and publication of the complementary anniversary booklet.
My responsibilities as Acting Manager & Vice-President of the Board
  • In this capacity, I was tasked with funding decisions and resource allocation for project proposals by students, organizing events, and managing public relations for the POLIS Support Association for Political Science at Tübingen University.
  • During the Covid pandemic and its aftermath, POLIS, like other associations, experienced a slump in activity and a drop in active membership. It was at this time that I joined the organization in an active role. Immediate steps included the organization of multiple events to increase the organization’s visibility, active and passive advertisement measures, as well as reworking the outdated and inaccessible website.
POLIS
  • This association, POLIS Förderverein für Politikwissenschaft an der Universität Tübingen e.V., seeks to support students’ research ambitions by financially supporting research projects such as theses, field research, or excursions. Additionally, it brings together students, professors, and external guests to discuss current issues relevant to the field of political science, thereby enhancing the institute’s network and visibility. Lastly, by organizing and hosting various social events, it contributes to a welcoming and open atmosphere for students and faculty.
Core Achievement
  • Increasing the activity and visibility of the organization.
  • Increasing the number of active members.
  • Recruiting motivated and qualified successors for the board.
